Manolo Plushie

Manolo from "The Book of Life"...in skeleton form...made into a plushie!  I started this over the summer, realized how much detail was going to have to be put onto this plushie, chickened out, and restarted on it several times before finally finishing it.  Despite the some color issues and confusion over certain details, I'm pleased with this plushie!  It's also kinda bigger than I planned it to be...

So..working on bits of this plushie during the summer was...challenging.  I had to pause and unpause movie trailers to find out how the details on his body looked from diffeent angles...It was hard to find full body references outside of the trailers...But after waiting a bit and watching the movie, I finally got my hands on the art book for this movie, which proved infinitely helpful in figuring out certain bits of his outfit.  I was still a bit clueless about how the back of his outfit looked so...uh...if it looks not very movie-accurate, don't get upset at me, I know it's not movie-accurate.

So, every single bit of gold on this plush was cut out by hand with tiny scissors, and hot-glued to the body.  This was very time-consuming...And then I had to go over Manolo's hands and face and hand-stitch some details all over those...this was also a pain in the patoot to do...

This plush is not for sale.  If I had to make anymore of these, my hands would fall off my wrists.  So many details...0_0;
