Baby Groot Plush

So...I got to go see Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 awhile back and now I'm all worked up about making some fanart 'cause I loved it so much.  It was awesome!  I've been listening to the soundtrack on repeat and replaying scenes in my head all week. 

This is actually my second attempt at a Groot plush- my first Groot was made when the first movie came out, and I...scrapped it, 'cause it turned out pretty bad...This new one...is a bit better, but maybe I can improve on it one day...

I tried to make this plush pretty close to how tiny Groot is in the second movie, so he can be carried around and taken on adventures.  He's not very poseable- just filled with plastic pellets so that his legs dangle and flop when set down on flat surfaces.  He'd probably sit real cute in a tiny chair or a cup holder, though.

I made this tiny Groot with a fake suede material I got out of a remnants bin at the fabric store.  It's really soft, which made this Groot very cuddly, despite all the painting and sewing details I added to it.
